Princeton-NUS (National University of Singapore) Entrepreneurial Exchange (PNEX) Overview
PNEX will be the vibrant platform uniting students from NUS and Princeton, in a bid to promote international entrepreneurial ventures. Through experiential learning and exposure to the key workings behind successful ventures, students will be able to learn and share their innovative entrepreneurial ideas with peers from different cultural backgrounds. The Princeton Entrepreneurship Club, is well-poised to further these aims.
Founded as a student-led entrepreneurship club, the Princeton Entrepreneurship Club is the resource hub for all budding entrepreneurs in Princeton University. It organises the prestigious TigerLaunch Business Plan Competition, which is attended by many students, successful alumni, and venture capitalists, and has seen previous winners develop into successful enterprises. One of the most established clubs in Princeton University, the Princeton Entrepreneurship Club has strong links with industry leaders in the region, including venture capitalists and financial institutions on Wall Street, start-ups, consulting firms, investment banks and academia.
The 1st leg of the PNEX will see 12 Students from Princeton coming to Singapore from March 13th to 20th. Delegates will attend a series of seminars, conferences and lectures in NUS. Students from NUS and Princeton will also be working together in Business Idea Generation sessions culminating in a Business Plan Presentation which our esteemed sponsors will be invited to evaluate. Following which, visits will be conducted to successful local enterprises and governmental agencies as well as networking sessions and mixers, allowing the Princeton students to get a better feel of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Singapore.
In the 2nd leg of the Exchange, 12 students from NUS will be travelling to Princeton, New Jersey from September 18th to 26th. Organised by the Princeton Entrepreneurship Club, the one week program includes seminars, workshops and networking sessions in Princeton University, as well as visits to start-ups in New Jersey and venture capitalist firms in Wall Street. While fostering close friendship with students from Princeton, students will have the opportunity to explore the business landscapes so as to understand the key factors behind the success of start-ups and also learn to appreciate the dynamic entrepreneurship ecosystem in the USA.
In line with our vision of establishing the next generation of global entrepreneurs through the fostering of alliances, innovation and knowledge sharing, PNEX will be the next step that builds interconnectedness between budding entrepreneurs of different cultures and backgrounds.
